Gas Safe Engineers are engineers that are registered with Gas Safe; an official list of gas engineers that are registered to work legally and safely with gas appliances in the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey. It is a legal requirement that any engineer who works with gas is registered to Gas Safe and this is the best way of ensuring no potentially fatal accidents happen because an engineer does not know what they need to know.
Some people may be familiar with CORGI as the gas registration body in the UK, however, Gas Safe replaced CORGI in 2009 to step up the safety of gas and allow no place for complacency.
Here at Gas Cookers Installation, we only use Gas Safe registered engineers and our engineers’ carry their badge with them at all times. Don’t be afraid to ask to see your engineer’s card. The front of the card should have a photo, start and expiry date, licence number and a security hologram. The back of the card should have your engineer’s qualifications and if they are up to date. Check this to make sure they are qualified to work with your appliance. For example, it could be a oiler, gas oven, gas fire etc.
At Gas Cookers Installation, we have polite friendly and punctual Gas Safe registered engineers. We can work within a three hour time slot in aid of your convenience and we do a range of services such as Gas Safety checks, Cooker installations, Cooker disconnections and Hob installations.
